Butterhill Water Treatment Facility Backup Generators
New Windsor, NY
Client: Town of New Windsor
The scope of this project includes the creation of a new water filter plant and well systems along the Moodna Creek in the Town of New Windsor. This part of the project, being the most complex includes two 500 KW generators with paralleling controls integral of their respective generators to allow both to be energized in the event of a utility power loss. Depending on load conditions both generators may continue to run or have an individual one shut down if power demand is low enough. The intent of this project was to provide a level of redundancy yet have capabilities in extreme conditions to meet the power demands of the filter plant and large distribution pump operation when utility power is not available. Project was completed in the Fall of 2018.
