Sylvan Ridge Farm
MHE Engineering provided structural engineering as well as basic life safety and architectural plans for the two story catering and event center. The heavy timber framed building used non-traditional framing techniques to develop a 3,300 square foot main dining floor with grand fireplace. The stone masonry fireplace of nearly a century old was preserved from the original barn which set on the site. During construction the fireplace and chimney were braced and underpinned to allow for an intricate use in the new design. The building also includes 2100 square feet in the lower level which accesses the courtyard, and a 1,000-square-foot covered outdoor cocktail area.
