EXPERTISE

Michael Lamoreaux is a principal at MHE. He is also the Director of Operations and head of the Structural Engineering division.

EXPERIENCE

In 2001 Mr. Lamoreaux started the Structural Engineering Department at MHE and immediately provided structural expertise to the Firm’s municipal clients. The department quickly grew to include all aspects of structural engineering for both public and private projects. Since inception, the Structural Department has expanded to include additional Professional Engineers, Project Engineers, Field Technicians and Certified Building Inspectors.

Since the adoption of the model building codes in 2002, MHE has provided consultations and assistance to numerous municipal Building Departments, most particularly on the large scale projects. MHE personnel has provided the full range of NYS Building Code inspections on projects in excess of $1.0 billion, most notably the Resorts World Catskills Casino in Sullivan County NY and the CPV Valley Energy Center in Orange County, NY.

  • Over 15 years experience as the Pike County Bridge Engineer, responsible for the engineering related to the inspections, maintenance, replacement and rehabilitation of the County Bridges
  • Certified Bridge Inspector through PADOT
  • Responsible for overall project design and management of the firm’s building design projects, building types include, but are not limited to, courthouses, libraries, office buildings, training centers, fire stations, industrial facilities, catering facilities and storage centers
  • Managed construction administration and observation on most of the firm’s building designs
  • Responsible for the development of the firm’s building inspection services
  • Has provided expert testimony and forensic reports for over 15 years for cases involving design deficiencies, construction defects, insurance claims and construction related accidents
  • Court appearances for testimony provided in mediation, arbitration and litigation settings in NY, NJ and PA
